Heine Bros Coffee Opens Newest Store in St Matthews on Shelbyville Rd

St Matthews Heine Bros Shelbyville Rd

There are some simple things that are simply fantastic, such as the Grand Opening of another new Heine Brothers' Coffee Shop located in St Matthews at the intersection of Shelbyville Road and Fairmeade Road.  It doesn't hurt (or I guess it might end up hurting my wallet) that it is now part of my commute to my office.  I used to have to go to the other St Matthews location on Chenoweth Lane.  It's a great shop, but if I'm heading to work, it requires a bit of backtracking from where I live which has resulted in me settling at times... #FirstWorldProblems

Anyway, I've not yet been inside this newest version, but it appears be quite snazzy.  Knowing the Heine Brothers' Coffee brand the way I do (I drink a lot of their coffee), the new building looks to be built from "green materials" which fits the Heine Brothers' profile of sustainable, earth-friendly approaches to business.  The new building has a garage door that can be opened on nice days, and good sized patio in front, perfect for hanging out on your St Matthews Saturday morning.  Earlier in 2012, Heine Brothers Coffee began serving beer and wine at select locations, however, this newest shop will not serve alcohol (if you insist on booze, Beverage Warehouse is across Shelbyville Rd. and Liquor Barn is next door).

Another thing that always impressed me about Heine Brothers Coffee is their taste in music.  Most of the time when I work from one of their stores (Don't worry, I'm not "Blue Tooth Guy") or meet a client at Heine Brothers, I can expect to hear interesting music.  On occasion, the barrista's musical taste might have been a bit too influenced by Trainspotting, but for the most part, the music is good.  They even sell music (on actual CDs), including Kentucky's own Ben Sollee.

But the main point of this post is that Heine Brothers' Coffee is great coffee, and its new St Matthews location is great news for coffee-addicted "reverse commuters" like myself.  See you there.
