Luxury Town Home in the Heart of St Matthews FOR SALE

307 Chelsea Green Ct Great Room

St Matthews is obviously not known for newer construction or modern floor plans when it comes to its housing options.  So when I had the chance to list this fabulous, open, and modernized approximately 13 year old luxury town home located in the heart of St Matthews off Massie Avenue between Hubbards Lane and Chenoweth Lane, I was excited!

The location is superb, and it's private.  Chelsea Green is a circular, no outlet court of 17 2-3 bedroom town homes with soaring ceilings, interesting architectural details, open & light layouts, and wonderful finishes.  Each unit has its own backyard that is maintained by the homeowner's association but allows for the unit owner to engage in green thumb activities without the hassle of heavy yard work.

307 Chelsea Green Court is one of the largest units in the development and most likely one of the larger town homes in all of St Matthews with over 3,600 square feet of living space above ground plus another 560 finished in the basement.  This spectacular home features 3 Bedrooms, 3 Full Baths, and 2 half baths.  The design is wonderful.  Formal entry with Mahogany front and storm doors are warm and inviting and lead to gorgeous Brazillian Cherry Wood Floors which are a delight to find covering a good portion of the first floor.  The dramtic 2-story Great Room is lit by numerous windows, and also boasts a fireplace flanked by built-in bookshelves.  The trim and moldings are simply beautiful.  Inside the turret is the first floor dining room.  On the other side of the foyer you will find the gourmet eat-in kitchen and gathering room.  The kitchen is an entertainer's delight.  Nine foot ceilings, custom maple cabinets, corian counters, built-in appliances, and a wet bar with ice-maker complete the kitchen.  The Gathering Room is spacious and comfortable and certainly gets the most attention of any room in the house by the current owners.  More Brazillian Cherry floors are also present.  A hallway that connects the laundry / mud room to the Florida Room, the Master Suite, and a discreet powder room is off of the Kitchen.  This is not your average St Matthews master bedroom and bath.  The Bedroom is spacious and has a ceiling fan, plantation shutters, & is privately positioned at the rear of the unit overlooking the fenced in backyard.  The Master Bath has two walk-in closets, tile floors, two separate sinks and vanities which creates two separate dressing areas.  There is a stand-up shower and a separate jetted tub.  This retreat is a wonderfully surprising living space.  The mud room is off of the attached 2-car garage and doubles as the laundry room as well.  The Florida Room is suitable for year round use most years and has lots of light and a slate floor.  It walks out onto a private patio in the privacy fenced backyard where the owner has some liberty with customizing some landscaping while the Homeowner's Association cuts the grass.  Sitting in the backyard, you won't feel like you're in St Matthews and yet you're within walking distance to a number of great restaurants and other entertainment venues.

Take the steps upstairs where you'll find gallery-like landing spaces between stairways, perfect for art or to display your stringed instruments.  Two bedrooms with ensuite baths are located on the second floor.  Up a few more steps to the office space which sits in the turret above the dining room.

Additional living space and storage can be found in the finished basement.  A family/media room with a convenient half bath are below grade along with ample unfinished space for storage or workshop area.

St Matthews might not be known for newer construction, but it is known for charming homes, and this is one of them.   There are other newer homes in St Matthews but few will rival this Chelsea Green town home!
